How To Make Easy Sunday Roast

1

Sear the roast: In a crockpot (if it has a sear function) or a cast iron skillet on the stove, melt slices of butter. Season one side of your room-temperature chuck roast with half of the seasonings and one packet of Lipton onion soup mix. Stuff sliced garlic cloves into small cuts in the roast.

2

Brown the meat: Place the seasoned side of the roast face-down into the butter and sear until golden brown. While it’s browning, season the other side and add the remaining garlic. Flip and sear the other side.

3

Slow cook: Set your crockpot to high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours. Add the seared meat, pour in the brown gravy, then fill the gravy jar with water, shake it up, and pour it into the crockpot. Stir in the cream of mushroom soup.

4

Cover and cook: Let it simmer low and slow until the roast is fall-apart tender. Serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or roasted veggies!
