For the turnovers:

  • Crescent Roll Dough: Two cans of crescent roll dough to wrap the apples
  • Apples: Two large apples, peeled and sliced thin.

For the sauce:

  • Butter: 1 cup of unsalted butter, melted.
  • Sugars: 3/4 cup granulated sugar and 3/4 cup dark brown sugar for a rich, caramel-like sauce.
  • Flavorings: 1 tbsp vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.
  • Whiskey & Sprite: 1/2 shot of whiskey and 7.5 oz of Sprite to pour on top for added flavor.

How to Make Whiskey Apple Turnovers

Prepare the Turnovers: Preheat oven to 350°F. Smear a small amount of butter in a baking dish to prevent sticking. Roll the crescent dough around 2-3 slices of apples per roll, being careful to enclose the apples. Place all the rolled turnovers into the prepared baking dish.

Make the Sauce: In a bowl, mix together the melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a pinch of salt.

  • 2 cans crescent roll dough
  • 2 large apples peeled and sliced thin

Sauce Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Topping

  • 1/2 shot whiskey
  • 7.5 oz Sprite
