What You Need to Make Turkey Treats
- Pretzels: Use mini pretzels like @rold.gold to form the “feathers” of your turkey.
- Chocolate Chips: Use @nestletollhouse chocolate chips for melting. A bit of coconut oil helps the chocolate melt smoothly.
- Reese’s Cups: The perfect center for your turkey body.
- Candy Eyes & Tic Tacs: Candy eyes (found at most grocery stores) and a Tic Tac for the beak.
How to Make Turkey Treats
1
Form the Pretzel Fan: On a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, arrange 3 mini pretzels in a fan shape to resemble turkey feathers.
2
Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with a little coconut oil. Heat in 30-second intervals, stirring in between until smooth.
3
Pipe & Mold the Pretzels: Transfer the melted chocolate into a piping bag or ziplock bag with the tip cut off. Pipe a circle in the center of the pretzels to mold them together.
4
Add the Reese’s Cup & Decorate: Place a Reese’s cup in the middle of the pretzels while the chocolate is still melted. Add 3 dots of melted chocolate on the Reese’s cup for the eyes and nose. Use candy eyes and a Tic Tac for the nose to bring the turkey to life.
5
Freeze & Enjoy: Place the treats in the freezer until the chocolate has hardened. Serve and enjoy your cute Turkey Treats!
