How To Make an Apple Galette

1

Prepare the Apples: Peel and slice the Granny Smith and Honeycrisp apples. Add them to a large mixing bowl.

2

Mix with Spices: Add brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon sugar, and nutmeg to the apples. Mix until evenly coated, then refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.

3

Prepare the Puff Pastry: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Rub a bit of butter on the bottom of a skillet or baking sheet to prevent sticking. Gently lay out the puff pastry, pressing it lightly along the edges, with some overhang for folding over later.

4

Assemble the Galette: Sprinkle a little cinnamon sugar and nutmeg on the pastry. Add the apple mixture on top, spreading evenly. Fold the edges of the pastry over the apples.

5

Add Final Touches: Brush the folded edges with egg wash and sprinkle with sugar for a golden, crunchy crust.

6

Bake: Bake the galette for 35-45 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and the apples are tender.

7

Serve: Let the galette cool slightly, then top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a drizzle of caramel sauce for the ultimate dessert.
