In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, cottage cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, Cajun seasoning, herb and garlic blend, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, and chopped green onion. Mix until just combined. Form into thick, even-sized patties.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and mushrooms and sauté until softened and lightly browned, about 6 to 8 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, place the hamburger patties and cook over medium-high heat. Sear for about 3 to 4 minutes per side until nicely browned. They don’t need to be fully cooked yet.
In a bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, Heinz beef gravy, and Better Than Bouillon until smooth. Pour the mixture into the skillet with the patties. Layer the sliced onions directly on top.
Cover and reduce the heat to low. Let everything simmer together for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the patties are fully cooked and the gravy is thick and rich.
Serve the patties hot with plenty of that creamy gravy. Spoon the sautéed mushrooms and onions over the top before serving. Perfect over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
