Ingredients

  • ~45 saltine crackers
  • 2 sticks butter 1 salted, 1 unsalted
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 packet hot chocolate powder mix
  • 1 12 oz bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 cups Cinnamon Toast Crunch Mexican-Style Hot Chocolate cereal
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Christmas sprinkles

Instructions

Prep the pan:

  • Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Lay out the saltine crackers in a single, tight layer.

Make the toffee:

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F.
  • In a saucepan, melt the two sticks of butter.
  • Whisk in the dark brown sugar until fully combined and bubbling.
  • Stir in the hot cocoa mix and let it boil together for 3 minutes.

Coat the crackers:

  • Pour the hot toffee mixture evenly over the saltines and spread to coat every cracker.
  • Bake for 3–5 minutes until bubbly.

Add the chocolate:

  • Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle on the chocolate chips.
  • Once softened, spread them into an even melted layer.

Load on the toppings:

  • Sprinkle on the hot-chocolate cereal, mini marshmallows, and Christmas sprinkles.
  • Press everything gently into the melted chocolate so it sticks.

Chill:

  • Refrigerate for 45–60 minutes, or freeze for 30 minutes if you need it fast.

Crack it:

  • Peel off the parchment paper, break it into pieces, and display on a pretty holiday dish.
