Hot Italian Sandwich

This Hot Italian Ciabatta Sandwich is everything you love about deli sandwiches but baked until warm, cheesy, and irresistible. Whether you serve it for lunch or dinner, it’s guaranteed to satisfy every craving.

Ingredients

For the Sandwich:

  • 1 ciabatta loaf
  • ½ tbsp Dijon mustard
  • ½ tbsp mayonnaise
  • 4 slices ham
  • 6 slices pepperoni
  • 4 slices salami
  • 4 slices cappicola or extra salami
  • 4 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning

For the Lettuce Mixture:

  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1 tbsp pepperoncini diced
  • Splash of pepperoncini juice
  • ¼ cup red onion thinly sliced
  • 1 tsp red wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

For Topping:

  • 1 tomato sliced

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a sheet pan with parchment paper.
  • Slice ciabatta loaf in half. Place bottom on pan. Place top cut-side up and brush with olive oil. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
  • Spread Dijon mustard and mayo on bottom half. Layer with ham, pepperoni, mozzarella, salami, cappicola, and another layer of cheese.
  • Bake 6–8 minutes until cheese melts and bread is toasted.
  • While baking, mix lettuce, pepperoncini, juice, onion, vinegar, Dijon, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Remove sandwich from oven. Add lettuce mixture and tomato slices. Spread mayo on top half of bread, then assemble.
  • Slice and serve hot.
