Pimento Cheese Balls

Pimento cheese balls are a crispy, creamy southern appetizer that's perfect for parties or snacking. Made with store-bought pimento cheese, coated in seasoned panko, and pan-fried until golden, they sit on a sweet layer of pepper jelly for the perfect savory-sweet bite.

Ingredients

  • 1 large store bought container pimento cheese
  • 1 cup flour
  • Egg wash 2 eggs with splash of milk
  • 1 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • Olive oil for pan frying
  • Pepper jelly for base

Instructions

  • Roll your cold pimento cheese into balls, dip in flour, then egg wash, then panko mixture (mix the Italian seasoning with panko). Put in the fridge for at least 15 minutes before frying
  • Pan fry on the stove top in your oil until golden brown on all sides
  • In your plate put a layer of pepper jelly at the bottom, add your cheese balls on top, then sprinkle with a little more Italian seasoning.

Notes

You can have extra pepper jelly on the side for dipping
