Commonly Asked Questions

Can I use a different type of ground meat?

Yes, you can use ground turkey, chicken, or even a mix of ground beef and pork. Just keep in mind that leaner meats may result in a slightly drier meatloaf, so adding extra milk or a bit of olive oil can help maintain moisture.

Do I have to use pepperoncini juice?

No, but the pepperoncini juice adds a tangy flavor that makes this recipe unique. If you don’t have pepperoncini juice, you can substitute it with pickle juice or apple cider vinegar for a similar tang.

Can I make this meatloaf in the oven instead?

Certainly! Form the meatloaf on a baking sheet or in a loaf pan, cover it with the sauce, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 1 hour, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C).

How do I store leftovers?

Store leftover meatloaf in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or oven until warmed through.

Can I freeze the meatloaf?

Yes! You can freeze the cooked meatloaf. Allow it to cool completely, wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and foil, and store in the freezer for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before reheating.
