Ingredients

  • 1 large yellow onion sliced
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp thyme
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tbsp sherry
  • Small baguette sliced
  • 8 oz block of Gruyère cheese shredded

Instructions

  • Melt butter in a pot and add sliced onions.
  • Season with garlic powder, black pepper, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and a pinch of salt. Let cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until onions caramelize.
  • Add in beef broth and bring to a boil.
  • Stir in sherry and let simmer.
  • Toast baguette slices in a preheated oven at 375°F for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp.
